Participation of D Media in NICE Residencies Meeting, Karosta
NICE (Network Interface for Cultural Exchange) was formed in 1999. This meeting was the first attempt of a primarily Nordic based network to meet new media organizations from Central/Eastern Europe in order to work toward establishing residencies across these different regions. Exchange between D Media & Multimedia Institute, Zagreb
Participation of Andrei Costina & Mihai Pedestru from D Media in two events, the Vis Tactical Media Camp and Summer Source Camp for the purpose of working with programmers on developing open source solutions for D Media. Residency: Diana Balog of D Media at Culture and information Center K@2, Karosta
Diana Balog of D Media will be in residency at K@2 for the dual purpose of job shadowing (researching the projects and daily operations of the cultural center) and also to explore the possibility of starting a collaborative video project between K@2 and D Media that would document people's experience of borders between the two regions. Residency: Joanne Richardson of D Media at NIFCA, Helsinki
Joanne Richardson of D Media was in residency at the Nordic Institute for Contemporary Art to research new media initiatives in Helsinki (M-Cult, katastro.fi, Olento), to explore the possibilities of future collaborations, and to participate in RAM 4 with a presentation of D Media projects as part of an emergency “survival kit” in the inhospitable Romanian media landscape. July 2007 - June 2008
EVS exchange between D Media and Videoaktiv, Cluj-Berlin
As part of a collaborative video project "Young, Female, Precarious" two members of Videoaktiv came to Cluj and two members of D Media went to Berlin to work on the videos and produce a DVD compilation together. The exchange was part of a larger EVS (European Voluntary Service) project on precarity, which also involved groups from Belarussia, Ukraine, Netherlands and the UK. The EVS project was coordinated by EYFA: European Youth For Action in Amsterdam.


August 30 - September 30, 2007
Residency: Joanne Richardson of D Media at KSA:K, Chisinau
Joanne Richardson of D Media was in residency at [ KSA:K ] the Center of Contemporary Art in Chisinau for two collaborative projects: (1) the Found Footage Workshop organized by KSA:K, for which D Media was a partner, (2) and to work on the D Media project Commonplaces of Transition, for which Stefan Rusu of KSA:K worked as a cameraperson on one of the videos, In Transit.


October 29 - December 9, 2007
Residency: Joanne Richardson of D Media at InterSpace, Sofia
Joanne Richardson was in residency at [ InterSpace Media Art Center ] to work on the collaborative video project, Commonplaces of Transition. During the residency she worked with 2 members of InterSpace on a video on Bulgarian activism and also gave a series of lectures and screenings on each Tuesday (on video activism, counter-documentary, copyleft, precarity, etc.)
