Sindan Gallery, Cluj-Napoca 2002

The two rooms of the installation were set to be the sources for a possible definition regarding home. It is not a definition of the place it is a definition of a state of being. I arranged the two rooms as in contrast to each other. One dark another full of light, one full of personal objects another nearly empty…And than I invited everybody to the opening like to a home party.
This was my diploma work. I got the lowest note from my class at the University of Art In Cluj, I didn’t showed any creative or technical skills trough this work.
I was also showing the video “I love home” in the room that had furniture. You could stay in the empty room to listen music from a bunch of tapes brought from my home, you could eat chocolate and also write or draw on the paper on the floor. A lamp was making a little light, with a text projected on the wall, “Xena, your happiness has come…” , in my personal language this was meaning that even if you are a great fighter, as a woman you still have menstruation and you will suffer. The definition remained at the level of intuition, I created the feeling of home in a art gallery, it was like I moved in for a few days.
