Individually, every one of us lives their own dreams and desires. Yet, in this world we live in that provides the background, the examples and the moments for such experiences. In today’s Romania, it is becoming more and more difficult to ascertain whether you live your dreams and desires because of who you are or because this is how society has defined you. […] “Only tomorrow” is a journey trough the world of local reveries. The interaction is unencumbered and unmediated, as both we and the camera are mere witnesses to the time spent together with our co inhabitants. The journey trough workshops for exercising a potential future, where personal stories and divers experiences are brought together, fluidly integrates into our own reverie related to this project.
“Nicoleta Mocanu and Marius Stoica’s film Only Tomorrow is a puzzle of daydreaming- ‘our eyes wide open’ and those met along a sinuous journey being invited to put its pieces back together personally, subjectively. To return for a moment longer to Ditchev: the fluid citizenship is shaped as a reflection of Zygmunt Bauman’s syntagm liquid modernity; the latter critically comment that , in the extreme, freedom of movement can quickly eliminate the huge responsibilities involved in living in a socio-political space . Power ends up operating not only through coercion and open conflict, but also , going against the grain , trough evasion. The film is a veiled commentary about the equation between the amount of dreaming and what still invest in the real world, about the inevitable gap between exception and normality.”
